Hi, I’m Guruprasad A, a Yoga Instructor and Ashtanga Yoga Practitioner with over 7+ years of teaching experience.
For me, yoga is not a competition to master advanced asanas or compare one practitioner with another. It is a journey of grounding yourself and reconnecting with your body, breath, mind, and inner self. Asana is only one part of this journey. Through movement, pranayama, meditation, awareness, and stillness, we gradually move from the external towards the internal.
I believe that every person can approach yoga in their own way, regardless of age, experience, flexibility, or physical ability. A beginner does not need to be flexible to begin yoga, and an experienced practitioner does not need to constantly seek more advanced postures. The real value of practice lies in developing awareness of how we move, breathe, think, and experience ourselves.
My approach is to make yoga a meaningful practice rather than simply a physical achievement. Whether you are beginning your journey or have been practicing for years, the focus is on building awareness, steadiness, balance, discipline, and a deeper connection with yourself.
Through Ashtanga Yoga, asana alignment, pranayama, meditation, mobility, and mindful movement, I encourage practitioners to understand their own bodies rather than force themselves into a posture. Progress is not measured only by how deep a posture becomes, but by how consciously and comfortably we experience the practice.
Yoga also teaches us to observe without constantly judging ourselves. There may be days when the body feels strong and flexible and days when it feels different. Both are part of the practice. Learning to listen, adapt, breathe, and remain present is itself an important aspect of yoga.
With my background in Yoga and teaching experience, I aim to create a practice that is progressive, conscious, sustainable, and rooted in the deeper purpose of yoga. My goal is not simply to teach you how to perform an asana, but to help you understand what the practice can offer beyond the mat.
Yoga begins with the body, but it does not end there. It is a journey from movement to awareness, from the external to the internal, and ultimately towards greater balance and connection within.
